SATP Madness: Road to the Final Four
All roads lead to academic success at Clarksdale High! We have been anticipating the Spring administration of the Subject Area Testing Program (SATP) all year. With School Improvement Grant (SIG) funds we have been able to improve student achievement by increasing learning time, providing additional instructional resources and programs, and securing additional personnel to support the growth of the students, staff, and administration. Students have participated in common assessments that were developed to mirror the level of rigor as the actual state assessments. Students have also received additional objective-specific instruction and tutoring in after school and Saturday school sessions, as well as, intense remediation during the course of the school day.
We would like to remind our seniors and their parents of the final retest dates for those students who plan to participate in graduation 2012: English II (March 26), Algebra I (March 27), US History (March 28), and Biology I (March 29). Parents please be advised that this will be the last opportunity your child will have to take and pass a subject area exam and still be allowed to participate in commencement exercises in May. We are asking for your support in encouraging your child to attend all remedial support activities and in ensuring that your child attends school on the days of testing.
We are celebrating the month of April in themed fashion-SATP Madness: Road to the Final Four. On March 31, April 14, 21, and 28, students will participate in valuable learning experiences, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m., that we feel will help increase their chances of successfully completing each exam. All students are encouraged to attend! Tranportation, breakfast, and lunch is provided. Listed below is a schedule of the actual testing dates for the Spring administration of the SATP. Parents please make sure your children are present and well-rested each day. We appreciate your support in helping us ensure the success of our students!
